The ACE Lahore Region was established after formation of One Unit under Section 3 of the ACE, 1961. Lahore-B being capital of the Punjab is most important region because apart from Civil Secretariat, Head Offices and Directorates, most of the departments are located here. Lahore-B Division has an area of 16,104 square kilometer and a population of 4,248,641 as per 1998 census.
